Cruz User Guides Available for Free Download

For your convenience, we’ve provided links to the most up-to-date User Guides for each Cruz model currently available. Not sure which Cruz model you bought? Don’t worry, we have you covered! There are very quick and easy ways to determine which model you have and we’ve outlined them for you below:

Cruz Tablet T301
(Click to download User Guide)

The Cruz Tablet T301 is the latest Cruz released. Unlike previous Cruz models which featured the Borders eBook app, this model features Kindle for Android. You’ll know you have the Kindle app if you go to your homescreen and see a blue icon with a boy reading under a tree. It’s labeled “Kindle.”

Cruz Reader

The Cruz Reader is the first Cruz device we released. The Cruz Reader’s exterior looks exactly like the Cruz Tablet T301, but instead features the Borders eBook application and has a resistive touch screen. This means that tapping buttons and links on the screen requires physical resistance rather than the heat signature in your fingers. You may find that a stylus aids in touchscreen accuracy.

Cruz Tablet T103
(Click to download User Guide)

The Cruz Tablet 103 is the first gen Cruz Tablet. It is no longer available to purchase direct from Velocity Micro but can still be found at some retailers like Borders. The Cruz Tablet T103 also features the Borders eBook app. The screen is widescreen format (16:9) rather than the more square screens on the Cruz Tablet T301 and Cruz Reader.

I just got this for my husband for Valentine’s Day, and while a lot of it is really good, the e-reader portion is frustrating us. I have downloaded the manual twice, but I can’t find where it is after that. Where do I find it after it is downloaded? Also, after I downloaded it I found that I had to go through the manual page by page–the table of contents did not allow me to click on it as a link to the separate sections. How do you navigate in this without going page by page?

  3. Esther says:

Also, I should add that when I tried to click on the links on this page for the manual, I got a message saying that the web site declined to provide the file. So I can’t get the manual here either.

  6. CheapTablet says:

The online reviews seemed decent and so I thought I would give it a try. This is my first tablet, and also my first Android device, and so it has taken me a little while to figure a few things out but overall I’m happy with my purchase.

I really liked your product, Cruz reader.
I wonder if there will be an update to the Android 2.2 Cruz reader?

Hi, i love my new tablet but i just can’t figure out how to download app games. Is there anyway to have the Android market downloaded on the cruz reader. I had gone to the cruz market but it does not let me download any apps. Please help.

    • CruzAdmin says:

      Which tablet do you have?

      • sabrina says:

I have the R103 i think And how do you make the sensitivity on the screen more sensitive?

        • CruzAdmin says:

The R100 Series is a Resistive Touch screen, while all of our other tablets are Capacitive Touch. The difference between the two are as follows:

Resistive Touch: This form of touch screen technology features two electronic layers inside the screen separated by a narrow gap. When your finger presses on an area of the screen, these two layers are joined, sending the info to the Cruz processor and translating it as an x/y coordinate input.

Capacitive Touch: The term “capacitance” literally means “the ability to hold electrical charge.” A capacitive touch screen emits an electrical current from each of the screen’s four corners. Since the human body holds an electrical charge, the user’s finger disturbs the electrical current when it touches the screen. The Cruz’s processor translates the X and Y coordinates of the input. The result is a highly responsive and intuitive touch screen surface, since it has nothing to do with the pressure of your touch.
